RULES OF TRIPLE 3
-----------------

The board is divided into nine boxes, each containing nine holes. The object
of the game is to win either three boxes in a line (horizontally, vertically or diagonally) or a total of five boxes anywhere on the board.

To win each box you must obtain within it either a line of three of your pegs
or five of your pegs anywhere within it.

The moves available to you on your turn are determined by the two dice. Apart
from a few special throws you can either place your peg in any vacant hole
marked with the number corresponding to the dice total (except a centre hole;
see below) or any vacant hole in the box with the same number (highlighted
below the centre hole) as the dice total except its centre hole.

Special moves
-------------

Two (double one): Remove one of your opponent's pegs then have another go.

Seven: Any vacant centre hole or any vacant hole in the centre
                     box.

Twelve (double six): Any vacant hole on the board.

When you win a box it is filled with pegs of your colour. These pegs can not be removed by a throw of two so the box is now unavailable for moves.

If a move is not possible the dice are rethrown up to a total of three times;
if there are still no available moves your turn is forfeited.

PLAYING TRIPLE 3 ON THE COMPUTER
--------------------------------

The computer automatically handles all throws of the dice; you may not notice
when the dice are being rethrown, but it does happen when necessary.

The player whose turn it is to move is shown by the arrow pointing to the
appropriate colour in the bottom right section of the window.

You can play matches (eg best of five games) with the computer keeping track of the running totals, shown next to the coloured blocks in the bottom right
section. In successive games the player who starts is automatically
alternated as long as the previous game is played to completion.

The main menu gives you the option to reset the running totals or start a new
game. This can be done at any time during or after a game; you must use the
New game menu option to start each game; this option also has a sub-menu to
allow you to override who makes the first move.
